Shop/Warehouse Refurbishments
We carry out entire shop or warehouse refurbishments for our clients. This includes a multitude of tasks such as ripping out old, outdated or broken wires and cabling and equipment and replacing the electrics throughout the building. We can carry out repairs to existing equipment if it is in a good state of repair.
We are happy to go through the building and advise you on which areas need replacing, if the entire circuit needs replacing, which elements need to be repaired; in other words, we provide a full breakdown of the state of the electrical equipment within your property.
We can draw of schematics of the cabling and wiring we would need to carry out, including all the relevant details such as where sockets would be placed within each space, how much use your circuit could handle and much more.
We can then advise you on the best way to approach your electrics within your building and carry out your requirements while adhering to all the current standards and legislation’s.
Three Phase / Single Phase
Single Phase power refers to two wire power circuits with one power conductor and one neutral conductor. This has a standard voltage with one voltage power conductor and one neutral conductor. Power flows from power conductor through the load to the neutral conductor.
Three Phase power has three power conductors out of phase with one another and one neutral conductor. This is the arrangement which is most commonly used within industrial buildings because of t offers much more flexibility for large building requiring multiple electrical functions and usages. For instance, low power equipment such as lighting are powered via the smaller voltage circuits and more high power equipment such as air conditioning for instance is powered with the three phase circuit which offers a higher voltage.
Our expert electricians can install each of these phased systems. Call us today for more information and to book a free, no obligation quote.
Periodic Inspections
Industrial electrical installations should be tested and inspected regularly. This is to comply with the current standards and legislations. Owners of industrial buildings must ensure that all precautions which can be taken to limit the risk of injury because of electrical fault are taken.
Periodic inspections should be carried out if they are required by governing bodies such as insurance companies or landlords for instance.
Periodic inspections ensure that your building complies with the IEE Wiring Regulations (17th edition).
We would always recommend our customers carrying out periodic testing, especially if they have recently taken over either the ownership or the tenancy of a property.
Lighting & Power Installations
There are a wide variety of lighting options which can be installed within your warehouse and other buildings. PAT testing stands for Portable Appliance Testing and involves the testing of any piece of equipment which is portable and uses electricity, such as toasters, computers, kettles, heaters and so on. Health and safety legislation requires this kind of testing to be carried out on a regular basis. This is because estimations say that around a quarter of all electrical accidents are caused by such portable equipment.
At Spotson we have carried out dozens of PAT tests on all sizes and kinds of businesses and workplaces. We will leave notifications on all appliances we check with the date they were checked and the results of the test and we will contact you yearly to remind you about PAT testing your appliances. Please note it is not necessary to carry out PAT testing yearly but it should be done regularly. How regularly is up to the business owner or manager.
Security Systems
Most businesses have security systems fitted within their buildings to provide protection to the people, equipment and information they contain within their buildings.
We fit intruder alarm systems, CCTV systems, controlled access points and security lighting to all types of industrial properties. What is more is that we can offer guidance as to the best level of protection for your needs.
Intruder alarms
We can advise and guide customers on the various intruder alarms which are sufficient to fulfil their needs and requirements. We send time keeping up to date with the latest products and information which is released. We can install both internal and external intruder alarms, and we can fit systems which can be monitored by service engineers and police so that faults or potential emergencies can be addressed very quickly.
CCTV
CCTV is a great way of providing protection for your building. This is mainly because any potential intruder will not want to be caught on camera. CCTV is also cost-efficient too. They are a great investment for businesses which are located in vulnerable areas, areas which are more likely to be targeted, and areas which are remote or have concealed entrances and/or exits.
We can install CCTV systems and carry out maintenance and repairs to them.
Controlled Access
Controlled systems manage the amount of people who can access your buildings and warehouses. This therefore manages the risk of unlawful intrusion, vandalism and the like. We can set up systems which control access to your property. Systems can be placed on your building or warehouse or can be positioned within your grounds or at the entrance and exit to your grounds.
We can install single point entrance control or multiple entry control which can be positioned at different locations and used by a large or small number of different users. These systems can be remote locking and unlocking devices, code or cad or fob entry systems, intercom systems and any other you wish.
Fault Finding
Electrical fixtures, equipment, wires and so on will inevitably become faulty or develop weaknesses over time and with heavy usage. Electric circuits and equipment within industrial settings is likely to be in high demand so it may be more common to experience faults and problems. Our specialist electricians at Spotson will check each part of your system throughout your entire building thoroughly and systematically.
We are well practiced in carrying out such a service. We will also carry out repairs and replace any damaged or faulty equipment. We advise you not to delay if you think there is a fault or a problem with your electrics. Time will only worsen the situation or cause further issues. We run a 24hours emergency service so we are always on hand to visit your property at day or night.
Security Lighting
Lighting is a good deterrent for intruders because they can be seen by passers-by and via CCTV more easily. It also provides safety to those who are trying to access cars parked in remote car parks or places which are in locations that are vulnerable to being targeted by criminals.Security Lighting
It is of utmost importance to have a fire alarm fitted in your workplace. In fact, it is the law. You may choose different kinds of detectors based on the type of workforce you have and your property but it is a legal requirement to have a fire detection and warning system in place in your work building/s. These items and systems must be checked regularly. This is to ensure all fire systems are working correctly, your emergency lighting is working correctly, any faults are recorded, escape routes are clear, all fire escapes can be accessed and opened easily for swift exits, automatic fire doors work correctly and fire signs are fitted in the correct positions and are easily visible.
Your fire fighting equipment such as sprinklers, blankets and so on should also be tested to ensure it is properly installed and maintained. Your employees will need to be trained in how to use this equipment. We can train your staff how to use your fire safety equipment in the event of a fire.
We can also install specialist fire fighting equipment within buildings and warehouses which contain problematic materials.
For those warehouses and buildings which are holding large amounts of stock and stock or products which can spread fires quickly, we would recommend using an alarm which is linked to the local emergency services so any potential emergency or emergency situations can be responded to immediately.
We can also install, check and test any fire alarm and any fire alarm system. We can advise industrial clients on the systems which would work best for them and the correct level of safeguarding such as whether emergency lighting or automatic fire doors should be installed.
